cPanel Beginner Guide: Your First 10 Minutes

Got your cPanel credentials — now what? First 10 steps: changing password, adding domain, creating email, uploading files.

What Is cPanel

cPanel is the most widely used web hosting control panel in the world. It runs on Linux servers and provides an intuitive graphical interface for managing every aspect of hosting without needing to type commands in a terminal. Over 1.4 million servers worldwide run cPanel, and it has been the industry standard for more than 25 years.

cPanel consists of two separate interfaces, each with a different role:

  • cPanel — The client-facing panel for managing websites, email, files, and databases. This is the interface website owners use daily
  • WHM (Web Host Manager) — The server administrator panel for creating hosting accounts, managing server resources, and configuring global settings

When you purchase Cloud Hosting from CLOUD (cloud.net.sa), you receive a ready-to-use cPanel account with login credentials delivered via email immediately upon activation.

Accessing cPanel

There are two ways to access your control panel:

  • Direct URL: https://yourdomain.com:2083 — port 2083 is the default SSL-encrypted cPanel port
  • Via IP address: https://server-ip:2083 — useful if the domain is not yet pointed to the server

Enter the username and password you received when your hosting was activated. We strongly recommend changing the password immediately after your first login and enabling two-factor authentication to protect your account.

Main cPanel Sections
